My gg gradfather was Ira Hanks, Sr. who died 10/18/1903 at the age of 73 years while visiting in Norrisville, PA at the home of his son Ira Hanks, Jr. According to his obit he was born in Eden, Erie County, NY as a member of a large family whose father was (unknown) one of the pioneers of Erie County. Ira Sr. was known as one of the best horsemen in the area and trained many fine horses for the Buffalo and NY markets. His wife was Olive L. Mills of Evans, NY Their children were: Ella L. Crapps, Kirk, Michigan; Ira, Jr.; Ina; and Harvey Hanks of Hart, Michigan
