I recently came in contact with a gentleman who was kind enough to send me a copy of this interesting plat map made in 1895. The map covers the Floral Ranch area of what is now in Capitol Reef National Park. If you look in the upper right corner of the map you can see a dot labelled 'E. Hanks':

I recently (June, 2003) came into correspondence with a Hanks relative, Laura Hilton. She has very kindly sent me some copies of various records, and photographs, most of which are associated with George Augustus Hanks, a son of Ephraim K. Hanks and Jane Capener. Sarah Verrinder (b 1804) was the first wife of William Capener (b 1806), and they were the parents of Jane Capener, a wife of Ephraim Hanks .

Entry from the marriage register from St. George's Church, Hanover Sqaure, London, England for William Capener and Sarah Verrinder, married 26 Oct, 1828. Many thanks to the kind gentleman from the City of Westminster who sent me the copy of the record.
My transcription:
William Capener and Sarah Verrinder both of this Parish were married in this Church by Banns (?) this twenty sixth day of October in the yr. 1828 by me Evan [...?...] This marriage was solemnized between us
